The second and the third construction stages of Zvezda ship-building yard are coordinated
The General Board of State Expert Review has approved the 2nd and the 3rd stages of the construction of Zvezda Ship-building complex in Bolshoi Kamen bay, located in the Far East.
As was informed by the board media service, the commissioning of the 2nd and the 3rd stages will enable the construction of large-sized vessels by the method of block assembling.
The second stage of the project includes the construction of heavy open dry dock, which is set to enable the production of ships of almost any weight and dimensions. The third stage includes the installation of Goliaf type crane with a lifting capacity of 1200 tonnes.
Zvezda will become the only ship-building facility in Russia, which will be used for the manufacturing medium and large-sized marine vessels, and equipment for exploration, extraction, and shipment of hydrocarbons: carriers with a 350k ton displacement, gas-carriers with the capacity of up to 250k cubic meters, ice-class vessels, and marine platforms.
